Iranian Woman and New Hampshire Jewish Federation Respond to Israel-Iran Strikes
As Iran launched retaliatory strikes following Israel’s deadly strikes against its military, people in New Hampshire with ties to both countries said they were concerned for people in the region.
An Iranian woman who lived in Tehran for 29 years before moving to Strafford County said hearing about violence and attacks on her home brings up complicated emotions.

The woman, who asked not to be named out of fear of retaliation, said her feelings about Israel and the Iranian government have been shaped by what she has lived through, including war.
She said she’s worried about family members who might be in the areas being hit, although she also understands why some people in Iran are being targeted.
“These attacks, as scary as they are and as upsetting as they are, I can’t help but remember that the individuals that are targeted, they’re actually involved in a lot of atrocities,” she said.
At the same time, members of the Jewish community in New Hampshire are reacting to the conflict, as well.
“I think everyone can agree that peace is the best option, and just continue to pray for the citizens of both countries,” said Tracy Richmond, president of the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire.
Both women said they have family in Israel and Iran, and they’re concerned about their safety, a feeling they said they’re used to at this point.
