
Crunchyroll Unveils Teasers, New Titles & More at AX 2025
Crunchyroll, the go-to platform for anime lovers around the globe, made a splash at Anime Expo 2025 with its annual Industry Panel held on July 5th at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The event was packed with exclusive announcements, first-look trailers, and exciting production updates that had fans buzzing with anticipation.
New Titles Coming to Crunchyroll
One of the most anticipated reveals came from Masahiko Minami, president of Bones Film, known for hits like Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, My Hero Academia, and Eureka Seven. He took the stage to officially announce the upcoming anime adaptation of Daemons of the Shadow Realm. Based on the manga by Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), the series will be directed by Masahiro Ando (Sword of the Stranger) and promises to deliver an “otherworldly fantasy where mystery and the uncanny intertwine.”
Fans were also thrilled to hear about the next season of Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-. Lead Japanese voice actor Yusuke Kobayashi confirmed Season 4 will debut exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2026. Produced by Studio WHITE FOX (Steins;Gate), the new season will be directed by Masahiro Shinohara.
Another standout announcement was Tojima Wants to Be a Kamen Rider, an action comedy produced by LIDENFILMS (Tokyo Revengers). Set to premiere in October 2025, it follows a 40-year-old man chasing his dream of becoming a Kamen Rider after a life-changing robbery.
Romantic comedy fans got their fix with news about You and I Are Polar Opposites, set to debut in January 2026. Produced by Lapin Track (Undead Murder Farce), the series features a voice cast including Sayumi Suzushiro and Shogo Sakata.
Exclusive Teasers and Production Updates
Beyond new acquisitions, Crunchyroll treated attendees to exclusive sneak peeks. A teaser trailer for Sentenced to Be a Hero, based on Rocket Shokai’s novel series, gave fans a glimpse into this dark fantasy world. The series is set to debut in January 2026.
The beloved Black Clover series is returning for a new season, produced once again by Studio Pierrot. Fans who have been eagerly awaiting more episodes since 2021 were shown a new teaser trailer and key visual.
A first-look teaser for Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 delighted viewers. Confirming a 2026 release, the trailer showcased stunning animation from Studio Bind (Flower and Asura) and hinted at the return of fan-favorite character Eris.
Expanding Beyond Anime
Crunchyroll also expanded its gaming offerings with the addition of Classroom of the Elite – Merge Puzzle Spacial Exam –, now available in the Crunchyroll Game Vault. This free mobile game, playable outside Japan for the first time, is part of over 50 games accessible to Mega and Ultimate Fan tier members.
Celebrations and Merchandise Collaborations
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Ouran High School Host Club, Crunchyroll announced a merchandise collaboration with Steady Hands, featuring a new clothing line inspired by the iconic series.
Fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion had the chance to win a replica of Misato Katsuragi’s uniform jacket during the panel. Part of Crunchyroll’s 30th-anniversary celebration of the anime classic, the jacket is available online and at Anime Expo.
