Meta Forum Adds AI Moderation and a Shared Calendar

Meta’s Forum app adds AI post drafts, rule-check labels, flexible moderation rules and a shared calendar. The app remains available in the United States on iOS and Android.

Meta Forum admin tools now add AI-assisted moderation, post drafting and scheduling for Facebook Group administrators. In an update dated October 23, 2026, Meta said admins can review AI rule-check labels on pending posts, configure more flexible Admin Assist rules, coordinate scheduled content in a shared calendar and pin important comments. Forum remains available in the United States on iOS and Android; Meta has not announced a wider country rollout.

What changed in Meta Forum?

Forum is Meta’s separate app for people who want to explore and participate in their Facebook Groups in one place. It syncs with groups connected to a user’s Facebook account. The October update is aimed at the people who run those communities, not just members reading posts.

The headline additions are designed to reduce repetitive admin work: AI can help draft posts and assess pending submissions against rules; Admin Assist can apply custom moderation conditions; and a shared calendar lets admins and moderators see what their team has scheduled. Meta also added group-stage insights, updates about new Group features in Admin Home, and the ability to pin a comment so an answer or correction is easier to find.

Admin AI and Admin Assist are different tools

Tool What Meta says it does Practical use
Admin AI Suggests next steps for pending items, highlights topics and areas needing attention, drafts posts, and tags pending posts as likely following or going against group rules. Use it to triage a busy queue and prepare a draft for a human to review.
Admin Assist Lets admins combine conditions such as post length, link usage and previous moderation actions into custom rules for routine moderation. Use it for predictable cases covered by a clear, pre-set rule.
Shared calendar Gives admins and moderators one view of posts their team has scheduled. Coordinate campaigns, recurring posts and announcements without duplicating work.
Group-stage insights Surfaces suggested priorities for a new, growing or established group. Use the suggestions as prompts for planning—not as a guarantee that a particular tactic will grow a group.
Pinned comments Lets admins highlight a reply that deserves attention. Keep a correction, answer or clarification visible in a discussion.

The most important distinction is that Admin AI’s rule-check labels are predictions, while Admin Assist is a way to configure moderation rules. Meta describes pending posts as being tagged by whether they likely follow the group’s rules or may go against them. That language is not a finding that a member broke a rule, and it should not replace a careful human review of borderline or context-heavy posts.

How group admins can use the new tools

  1. Check availability first. Forum is currently offered in the United States for iOS and Android. Sign in with the Facebook account connected to your groups; an admin who cannot find Forum outside that rollout should not assume the feature is missing from a supported account.
  2. Review the pending queue. Use Admin AI’s suggestions and rule-check tags to prioritize posts, but open the post and apply the group’s actual rules before approving or rejecting it.
  3. Make Admin Assist rules specific. Start with objective conditions—such as link use or post length—that match an existing written rule. Avoid broad rules that could automatically catch legitimate questions or useful links.
  4. Keep a person responsible for AI drafts. Admin AI can draft posts for admins to edit and publish. Meta also says admins can use it to draft and schedule up to five posts in one go. Check dates, links, names and promises before scheduling.
  5. Use the shared calendar as the team’s source of truth. Check it before adding a new announcement, then pin a key answer or correction when a discussion needs a visible reference.

What is not confirmed yet?

Meta’s announcement does not publish an independent accuracy rate for Admin AI, a measured time-saving figure, or a guarantee that the tools will improve engagement. It also does not announce when Forum will become available outside the United States. The update describes tools inside Forum; it should not be read as confirmation that every Facebook Group admin worldwide now has the same interface.

That makes a cautious rollout sensible for community managers. Keep the existing moderation policy, check AI suggestions against real examples and monitor false positives before relying on new rules for routine decisions. The tools can help organize work, but admins remain responsible for the decisions their communities experience.
